Should I empty my bank account and buy food and guns?

Board up the windows and padlock the doors. We're in for trouble.

Yes, absolutely, that's what I've done and advised all my friends to do.

Your friends may laugh at you and say you're being paranoid, but see how they laugh when the trouble comes.

Stock up on some food, have a gun or two ready.

If you have anything spare, buy some gold or silver to preserve your money's value.

I don't care what people say or think about me, I can afford to be paranoid but wrong, can they afford to be careless but wrong?

Good advice.
Fully agree. What you need at a minimum:

1 rifle that accepts standard ammo. M1A is probably your best choice if you live in a ban state. I recommend an AK or AR-15 elsewhere.

1 handgun pref 45

1 12 gauge shotgun (Winchester makes a good 18" barrel model)

Ammo for each
