Is the bald terrorist in iron man mandarin?

hey i was wondering if that terrorist in iron man is his arch nemesis mandarin? i would assume he is but they never say his name.

No, he wasn't the Mandarin, but he wasn't Obadiah Stane either. Obadiah Stone's character was played by a bald Jeff Bridges, but the terrorist was the one that was holding Stark captive in the desert and ordering him to produce the weapons he wanted.

I believe it is implied that the terrorist (whose name wasn't significant) was killed when Stane came, did the whole ear thing to him and left and sent his men in there with guns blazing...

No. He was Obadiah Stone, Iron Monger in the comic series.
When they have that terrorist meeting they mention the name of the organization, the Ten Rings, meaning that it has something to do with Mandarin.

hey just FYI aswell mandarin is gonna be the bad guy in the iron man film, not sure when its out though.
