If Sarah Palin has nothing to hide, why is she angry about her email accounts being hacked?
Isn't the official position of the Republican Party that you don't need privacy unless you've got something to hide? Why are Republicans so angry about a Republican's email being read when they want the government to monitor the communications of Americans? After all, if Sarah Palin is following the law, what does she have to hide?
That will probably teach Republicans to be careful what they wish for, under the current policy they should be able to wiretap phones and emails on everybody, but they don't like it when it's them! I hope we return to FISA and warrants which provides emergency expedites. NSA = fascist experiment!
ummm.. wouldn't you be mad if your personal messages with friends; family; and people you work with were put on the internet? your dumb if you would be ok.. why dont you post a love letter you wrote to your husbund or wife on the internet?
Nearly universally people would be upset with someone stealing what did not belong to them. IT is the same as taking mail out of someone's mailbox. Theft is theft. Here's a thought. Let us all know your password and we can all read your email.
Because emails are private. Would you like it if someone hacked into yours. Lets look at Obamas if he can actually use the internet and have an account. He probably gets the regular form his spiritual adviser Rv. Wright...
I do not like Palin. I am not a McCain supporter. But I can understand being upset by this. How would you feel? I have nothing to hide but I don't want my personal business all over the place. I would feel this if I were a public figure. I am thinking about running for office. I need to get some experience though. That's my stumbling block. I should be able to get over it. I haven't checked to see what her emails reveal. I don't care. She's not a feminist. She is not for letting women decide for themselves how they want to live. She wants to tell people how to live as if she's a role model to aspire to. Yeah right.
No that's the "official position" of the republican party, you idiot. Find something else about her to talk about why don't you? This is getting old, the effing Dems trying to make something out of this case.
She is angry because her e-mail was hacked! She was the victim of a crime - hacking into someone's e-mail is illegal and she has every right to be angry.
I fell for a pfishing scheme a few years ago, and when it happened to me, I was angry too!
No, that's not the official position that privacy doesn't matter, and no, Republicans don't want the government to monitor all Americans, nor was that ever what Bush suggested.
Obviously, you don't want or are incapable of having a serious discussion.
Oh, and aside from it being a federal and state crime, she might be upset about having the personal telephone numbers for children being publicized and linked to on sites full of hate-mongers such as Kos.
This is stupid. It is a felony to break into someone's private account or to steal their mail. This isn't a matter or her having something to hide, but a matter of privacy. Her personal family information should not be published all over the internet. (Think about how many threats the secret service and fbi get on a daily basis for threats against congressmen and the president.) Now the hacker has made it easier on those who wish her harm. It is about the protection of her privacy, her family, and those who serve our country protecting them.
There were phone numbers and addresses (real and e-mail) in her account. All those people that e-mailed her have to change everything or just get swamped with idiots. It may have other information like account numbers and passwords for any e-billing. It's also a federal crime to hack e-mail addresses.
I have nothing to hide, but I would be furious if my email account was hacked.
However, I do believe Caribou Barbie is trying to hide something. Otherwise why would she PROMISE to cooperate fully with the Trooper Gate investigation, and then not? Where's all this transparency she talked about?
And I do see your point. We've been told over and over again by the neocons that if we've got nothing to hide, why should we be concern about our government listening to our phone calls and reading our email. Hmmm
Her email being hacked has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not she has anything to hide! It is her privacy... not to mention her daughters PERSONAL cell number was compromised as a result...
It kinda funny and ironic how libs will whine, complain, and carry on about the Patriot Act... but then when someones personal email is hacked into and displayed for the world to see then it's ok... they dont' have anything to hide right?
Give me a break.... you (and people that think like you) make no sense...
ADD: and to those that are "wondering" why she has a yahoo account in addition to her government account...
When you work for a government or a place that deals with government extensively (like companies that build for the military) you are HIGHLY discouraged from using your work email for your private email.... I know this because I have worked for a company that was funded through government defense grants and I now work for a city government....
the republicans believe in personal privacy, not government privacy. this government was formed so that it could not hide information from its citizens, and making citizens the highest rank of all people in the united states. her PERSONAL account was hacked. Its like having the press watching what you do in the bath room, we don't need to know what you do in there, and we don't need to now what her email says.

the constitution, morals, and capitolism ( socialists [ democrats, russia, and china] can just**** off
She's angry because it's a private matter. How would you like for me to read ALL of your emails? By the way, the doofus that hacked her email posted her kids cell phone numbers for everybody to see. So now every wacko in the world can call her kids and show just how big of a low life they are. Obviously she has nothing of value for her political enemies to use or we would have heard about it by now. And just so you will know because I can tell from your question that you have bought into the democrat bs concerning the FISA law, the government isn't listening to ordinary american's phone conversations. They are monitoring international calls from other countries to our country. They don't listen to every conversation or even most of them. Do a little research before you spout off about something you know nothing about please.
And no Republican politician said "you don't need privacy unless you've got something to hide."
Also, what is the purpose?
In wiretapping, the purpose is to protect us from terrorists. In this case, the purpose is either pure politics, or money (a reporter wanting a story, or someone wanting to sell the info recieved to a reporter)
Wouldn't you be upset if somebody hacked your e-mail ? Say no and that makes you a liar. Its human nature to be upset, and she's no different than you or me or anybody else. And look who the apparent hacker was...the son of a democrat politician ! Oh, what a surprise !!! Wouldn't be surprised to find out the politician hacked it and let his kid take the fall for it ! That would be typical.
Only thing I would say is where is your outrage against the hacker ?After all, it wasn't Palin who violated federal law and committed a felony here. Your entire train of thought here is ridiculous.----RN
I would be upset if someone hacked into my email account too. However, wouldn't it have been something if more incriminating evidence into this whole troopergate fiasco was found!!
One fact which must not be overlooked in all of this is that Palin was illegally using her personal account to conduct state business, with the purpose of keeping some of her activities as governor off of the public record.
Well, I'm pretty sure, that it's not because she has something to hide that she is upset. She is upset, because her personal information was hacked and violated.
