A Cessna 150 aircraft has a lift-off speed of approximately 125 km/h.?

A Cessna 150 aircraft has a lift-off speed of
approximately 125 km/h.
What minimum constant acceleration does
this require if the aircraft is to be airborne
after a take-off run of 262 m? Answer in units
of m/s2.
What is the corresponding take-off time? An-
swer in units of s.
If the aircraft continues to accelerate at this
rate, what speed will it reach 28.7 s after it
begins to roll? Answer in units of m/s.

a) use vf^2=v0^2 +2ad where vf is final speed (125 km/hr), v0=initial speed (presumably zero), a = accel, d=distance =262 m

first convert 125 km/hr to m/s to find the final speed is 34.7 m/s

then:

34.7^2=2xax262

a=2.3m/s/s

b) accel = change in speed / time

time = change in speed/accel = (34.7-0)/2.3 = 15.1 s

c) change in speed = at = 2.3 m/s/s x 28.7s = 66 m/s
