What are the details of the current ethics probe against Sarah Palin?

And will that probe be concluded and the evidence made known to American voters before the November election?

Additional Details

I found this:

Sarah Palin, as it turns out, is a former beauty queen, ex- high school basketball star and onetime TV sportscaster. She's also the subject of an ethics investigation in her home state of Alaska that's connected to her firing of the state's public safety commissioner.

The commissioner, Walt Monegan, alleged he had been pressure to fire a trooper who had been married to Palin's sister and split with her in an ugly divorce.

The Alaska state Legislature voted last month to hire an independent investigator to probe whether Palin or anyone connected to her had pushed Monegan to fire the trooper, Mike Wooten.

I think that dirt like that will not stick and affect the McCain ticket. In the past, extramarital affairs, hiring illegal immigrant workers and stuff like criminal pasts will sink the ship, but firing state employees with an investigation following will not harm them, unless it was unethical and carried wrongful termination allegations.

If it's definitely found to be unethical, then it will sway voters towards the Independents or Obama's camp.

Interesting choice, a woman whose experience consists of being a mayor of a small town in Alaska, 1 1/2 years as Governor of a small state, population wise, with no foreign policy experience. And in the middle of a scandal investigation. As running mate to a 73 year old man with a history of cancer. Even the conservative pundits are wringing their hands.

    Do I smell desperation?

It looks like a private investigation was done on the officer to find he was a child abuser and drunk driver. This was reported to the commissioner on many instances and he refused to fire the trooper. As far as I'm concerned, she was right to let him go. In her words, "he didn't want to take the department in the direction she wanted it to go." which means she wanted her trooper to be held to the same standards as everyone else and as those they are hired to protect.

I see this election as you have more than 2 options:

Option 1, Choose the candidates who really have nothing to hide, Palin is backing the investigation and encourageds it, McCain regrets the way his first marriage ended. Both are firm in their beliefs and from the looks of how well Alaska has been managed in the past two years, could do well in reforming government.

Option 2, choose 2 people who preach about change, yet everything they say is more of the same. You can't change something if you've been in the same political machine for 35 years and what jjudgmentcan you trust in someone who sits listening to his preacher spew hatred of America for 20+ years and not get up one day and just walk out? Or who makes friends and mentors behind a known terrorist. (yes, bombing a police station and planning to bomb the pentagon is terrorism) saying that Obama was only 9 when it happened and that you can't hold something like that against him. Yet not even 6 years ago his terrorist friend admitted to "wishing he would have caused more damage." Some mentor and business partner.

The answer may not be as simple as voting McCain/Palin, but the answer is definately not Obama bin Biden. if you can pull the chain for McCain, then leave the options blank.
