Events and Adventures in D.C.????

I am considering joining Events & Adventures in D.C. but i'm a little skeptical. It costs like $1600 for a one year membership and that's a lot of MONEY for a social club. I looked on the website at the "activities calendar" some look decent and others look pretty wack. Is there a member out there that can give me some advice before I join? Is it even worth the $$$$.

My cousin, who tried them recently, says to save your money and plan your own private activities. She says you'll be much better off because, according to her, the group is overrated and not worth the money.

I'm not sure a friend of a friend is good judge of a company. Find someone who is a member. Probably some love them, some don't. Pick a month, try to get busy yourself, and if you don't like with the results, use them. That's how I ended up paying for nutrisytem, but it worked.
