I do know that the death of Princess Diana overshadowed the media attention given to Mother Teresa's death in the UK.

Maybe because the death of Diana was a far bigger shock.

I know you weren't asking about the UK but I didn't even know Mother Teresa had died until sometime after the fact, simply because the news was full of Diana's death, her sons, the funeral and the reaction of the public.

She died a few days after Princess Diana so her story was overshadowed by Diana's story which was huge.
