He was a major police officer in the O.J. Simpson case. If you're not familiar with the case, look it up on Wiki.

Basically, it was Mark Furman's fault that O.J. was acquitted. The defense accused Mark of actually planting blood evidence at the crime scene. So the case fell apart, even though it was patently obvious that O.J. killed his wife.
