Antivirus 2009 virus?

Question

Uh.. I was on myspace and all of a sudden I get a pop-up saying something about Antivirus 2009 has detected viruses and crap..
I know Antivirus 2009 is spyware/malware/ a rogue whatever,
But, does this pop-up mean that I HAVE the virus? or is it just if I download it that I get it? ..

and if I do have the virus, how do I quickly, freely, and successfully remove Antivirus 2009 virus?

If Antivirus 2009 has been installed on your system without your permission or you are seeing popup advertising or recommending that you use Antivirus 2009 your system is infected with the zlob trojan.

This looks somewhat like a Windows warning message; it is not.

I am a computer programmer, 2-year degree. (I create programs, not A+ certified for PC repair.)

I have seen 5 machines where the users followed the instructions on the pop up window. It completely destroyed 4 of the machines by removing adminstrator rights of all users. After clicking on the pop up, no changes could be made to the computers, no access to control panel, etc...

One machine was repaired; saving that person's documents, but it took two techs and 16 hours ($$$$$). One computer was too old to bother, user had data backed up online, so just bought a new PC.

As for the remaining 3: the hard drives had to be formatted, and the operating system re-installed. All personal documents were lost.

u got a good one, the anti virus 2009 virus is a pain in the tush to get out, u might need to reinstall your os, i am a A+ certification student and another student from another class brought in there computer and they had that one and a over the counter anti virus could not clean it, will it did and the computer started doing weired stuff. good luck
