Why does everyone hate Jacob Black?

Question

I'm totally team Jacob! I don't understand why everyone hates him. Jacob is more realistic than Edward. Other than the werewolf/vampire stuff, where are you going to find a guy like Edward? Jacob as more human qualities than Edward, I believe in guys like Jacob more than Edward. There is such a thing as to perfect. Everyone has to have a flaw.

Not everyone hates him, it's just that for some (me for example), I think Edward is more inviting, and the thought of a perfect gorgeous guy is awesome. But he isn't perfect which makes him that much better! For example, he can be over protective, a little bit pessimistic, etc. Jacob, on the other-hand, is more juvenile and not as grown up as Edward. Like basically forcing Bella to kiss him! That was stupid, you have to admit. Jacob just seemed to complicate things more, and I get that that was to add more to the story, but Edward was there first, and overall, I think he's the better guy. (sorry :D I know you're "Team Jacob", but I'm "Team Edward" all the way!) Plus, when you picture Edward in your mind, it's kind of like creating a dream guy, and you can influence him a little bit. Jacob is a tall, muscular guy (and by tall, I mean TALL :) ) It's not that I hate Jacob, I just don't care for him :P

I think it's because men get jealous of Edward because Edward is so HOT!! I love Jake, he is so amazing.

I noticed a few people called him a pedophile.
I guess that'd be a great reason to hate someone, except that it's not true. He doesn't think about Nessie romantically at all. If you remember at the end, Edward says Jacob didn't once think that he'd only have to wait 6 1/2 years for Nessie to be fully-grown so he can be with her romantically. The Imprint just makes him want to keep her happy. It's not pedophilia at all. Besides, Edward is about eighty years older than Bella. Think on that one, lol. ^^

Another reason I've noticed is that people hate how he forced himself on Bella and manipulated her in New Moon and Eclipse.
This one actually IS true though, so it's a better reason, actually. ^^; The thing is, it's something a real person would do. Jake was desperate, and the only way he had a chance against Edward was to kiss Bella against her will until she realized she loved him too. Honestly, I'd rather a guy forced me to kiss him than watched me sleep without me knowing it though.

There are a lot of people who don't mind Jacob but just like Edward better. Meyer created Edward to be every girl's dream guy. He's gorgeous, protective, strong, loving, devoted, accepting, etc. For most people, it seems to have worked, so they love Edward. Since Jake is his rival for New Moon and Eclipse, they feel an understandable animosity towards him.
There's also a factor of if they prefer vampires or werewolves (or, uh, shape shifters), which I can't argue against at all, lol.

That's all I can think of right now... It's harder for me because I think Jake is by far the best character in all of Twilight. ^_^

he's always in bella and edwards life...gosh why cant he just leave them alone...

There is nothing wrong with Jacob.
He is a nice guy, and means no harm to me or Bella.
He's even really good with Nessie.

Wow I highly agree with Edward above me.

I think the reason why almost everyone hates Jacob is probably because he's always in Edward's and Bella's relationship. Like he told Bella's dad that Bella rode a motorcycle, and the purpose for that was to get Bella grounded and not see Edward. He's like a flaw or something to them (Mind that I haven't read Eclipse yet).

I know. Jacob's more realistic, but Edward is that kind of character that will take gazillions of girls' breath away for his impossible abilities. Oh, but Jacob could turn into a werewolf...

I prefer Edward to but Jacob is my Best Friend Forever (literally forever) He does very well with Nessie. Very well. Now I must go hunting. I'm parched.

Because to them, he's just an annoying angsty teenage werewolf in the way of Edward and Bella's relationship. And they don't like that, because they want Bella and Edward to be together...because Ed sparkles and all. They don't stop to look at it from Jacob's point of view, or think of how it would feel if a friend was choosing a fate worse than death for herself.

In Eclipse, Jacob was just determined to fight for her humanity...though her falling in love with him would have been nice too, her humanity was top priority. Sure, he made some mistakes, but people have flaws! Unless of course they're sparkly vampires named Edward.

Personally, I think Jacob is WAY better than Edward. Edward is too controlling, determined to make all of Bella's decisions for her, and he's just no fun. What does he ever do except declare his undying love? Okay, so he made a few jokes, and I will admit, they were funny, but he just seems averse to using his sence of humor.

Jacob is just more fun and more real in general.

Oh, and he's not a pedophile. Imprinting isn't necesarily romantic. Though I do wish Jacob had gone with Leah. In fact, I wish Nessie was never born. Stephenie has said a thousand times that vampires can't have babies.
