Anyone pretty Familiar with Poets??

Question

Yes, I have sadly yet inevitably procrastinated on my summer Literature homework. But I'm not going to blow it off- I just need help selecting a poetry book. For those who are familiar with a lot of poets, which one out of this list typically has shorter, easier to understand poetry? If there's a good book of theirs you have in mind (has to be on the shorter side though), I would love any suggestions!

The question isn't which has shorter and easier, it is which is the best. My favorite poets from your list here are Emily Dickinson and E.E. Cummings. Good luck with your assignment :)

I know Maya Angelou.
I read one of her poems for school.
So im pretty sure i didn't like it lol

To be perfectly honest, my experience has been that shorter does not always equal easier to understand. Some of Emily Dickinson's poems are a bit odd. John Donne can be difficult to understand if you're not familiar with the English of that time period, but generally considered excellent reading.

My favorite from your list has got to be Adrienne Rich, though my favorite of all time is Robert Frost.

I'd recommend Robert Frost, Maya Angelou, or Emily Dickinson. Any bookstore with a poetry section should have a volume of selected poems of at least one of them.
