How can Obama solve a war in Pakistan, Aphganistan, Iraq when he can't stop a war on the south side of Chicago

In Obamas district in Chicago on the south side there is wars going on, more people are dying in Chicago than in Iraq. This is Obamas district and he has done nothing to solve this problem. How can the guy solve a problem across the world invovling people of different religions, nationalities, and values when he can't even solve a war amonst his own constituents of his region.

You should be asking the mayor of Chicago what's going on on the south side of Chicago.

Do you know what Congress people do? They MAKE LAWS. They don't patrol the streets of the districts they respresent.

That's what a mayor is for and he is the one who hires law enforcement officers.

(HE CAN"T). This is a good point though! People are so worried about our soldiers in Iraq, Which in my opinion is doing rather well. And won't come fix our own problems. The reason is the same. If you try stopping all the gang wars, and pick up all the bad guys,the attorneys get them off on technicalities. Or because most of them are related to him, he doesn't want to hurt his voting force. He isn't racist is he.If he started cleaning up the streets, all his black voters wuoldn't vote for him.

I'm sorry -- there's a war going on in Chicago? I was in Chicago last summer and was totally unaware of any war. I was in a district where lots of Arabs and Iraqis have come as refugees to escape from war in the middle east. The specific reason I was there was that our Iowa church wants to build a relationship with the ethnic Arab-dominated CHRISTIAN church there.

I spent a half day in the basement apartment of a family of LEGAL Iraqi refugees. The guy was an English professor at a university over there and his wife was a history instructor. They got their education in the U.S. at Washington State a long time ago. They had a mansion and a Mercedes -- all of which they left behind when Baghdad fell. They got refugee status to Jordan, then to London where one of their daughters lives, then finally to the U.S. where they live in a hole in the wall in Chicago with a few of the ancient finery from their Iraqi home but not much.

As guests in their very sparse home they served us like royalty the best they could with homemade cake and these sugar donut things that are much better than any American donut I have had -- with Arab coffee and Iraqi tea -- and all sorts of delicacies from their home because middle eastern people on the whole treat their guests like kings and queens.

And they were very generous telling us their story of escape, because the Americans and British who first invaded Baghdad went for the wealthy neighborhoods first and the Kodas' (short version of their real name -- Mr. Koda -- the husband -- would not even be in photos with us because he was still afraid for his anonymity even in Chicago, not knowing who could be watching for him) lives were in imminent danger.

They already were in danger being Christians in Iraq.

And, I am a little confused -- even if there was such riotous action in Chicago that it required military action, even as a senator, does Obama have the authority to call out the national guard? No, that authority rests with the Governor of Illinois.

Obama does nothing to solve this problem? He graduated from Harvard Law School -- that was a free ticket to anywhere -- Wall Street, Corporate Life, High Level Politics, Lobbying, a joke of a consulting job like Chelsea Clinton, a hot shot law firm -- any of those earning six figures a year out of the gate.

He CHOSE to come back to south Chicago and build community from the grassroots.

There are people who had lived in generational poverty and welfare in Chicago who have living-wage jobs because of Barack Obama's work in their neighborhood.

There are teenage boys (and girls) who would have been surely destined for gangs who instead play sports and study at community centers built by funds raised by Barack Obama.

Even if he hasn't completely solved poverty and inner-city mentality that has been around since Chicago's founding 180 years ago, he at least chose to be hands on and involve the communities of inner-city Chicago in solving their own problems.

When is the last time McCain actually looked at or talked to someone living in poverty or who had a life of crime and wants to do better (Come on! Bush and Cheney don't count!)

McCain turned tail and ran from his first wife after she gained weight having his children and into the bed of a blonde cheerleader who could give him money for his political career and whose dad just happened to have Barry Goldwater's senate seat in his pocket.

I get that McCain was a POW and I'm glad he survived it. The difference is, he didn't have a choice about being a POW. He had a choice about committing to his first marriage or jumping into bed with Cheerleader Cindy when things didn't quite go his way. He chose the cheerleader and beer money to launch him to power.

Obama had every choice in the world open to him after graduating from Harvard Law -- where he didn't get in on his daddy's influence and far from being last in his class like McCain was at the U.S. Naval Academy -- he was the first black editor of the Harvard Law Review -- an honor reserved for the Best of the Class, chosen from a committee of professors and of his peers who likely wanted the job for themselves but had no choice but to admit Obama was their better.

Obama chose to return to his neighborhood and make it a better place. He's not a DEA agent or a cop or the mayor. Even as senator, he can't go knocking down doors or bulldozing crack houses or pulling prostitutes off the street. He can and has mobilized neighbors to help neighbors. He has built community centers and better schools and good daycare so parents can work without worrying that their kids are getting killed by gangs.

No, he didn't singlehandedly solve all the problems in Chicago.

But has McCain solved anyone's problems at all? Does he even try?

He tells people losing their homes to get a second job when the difficulty of getting a first job, much less a second, is only getting worse under the Bush policies that he plans to duplicate.

First USA should give Pakistan the proper and latest equipment to seal its border with Afghanistan then criticize Pakistan, I wonder how Americans can only blame Pakistan for Taliban attacks? Since all 35 NATO nations are in Afghanistan with their latest equipments USA itself is there with the number one technology in the whole world, Afghanistan should care about its borders but yet the whole world and specially USA blame only only only PAKISTAN.
We all know that USA can't secure its easy border with Mexico with its world number one technology but they expect Pakistan to secure its Mountainous border with Afghanistan, i just wonder on the hypocrisy of Americans.
Securing Pakistan Afghanistan border is a joint joint joint responsibility of all NATO and specially AMERICA & Afghanistan & then PAKISTAN.
And Pakistan has lost more troops & civilians than USA or any other country for this so called war on terror.
USA and WEST first look at their deeds then point out their fingers on Pakistan, USA must must must give Pakistan the latest spying equipments otherwise they should not expect something from Pakistan which is not possible even from them.
