Muslims, according to Islam why do men die?

Accordingto the Bible it is sin that causes death and the priice of sin is paid by Christ which brings man from death to eternal life made perfect by the atonement of Christ. No sin in heaven means no disease and death.
In Islam did Allah simply make man to perish?

Additional Details

Happy, seems to me many Muslims have physicly passed from this world.

Love of course I am not offended by your question.
Jesus paid the price of sin for all but many will not accept his atonement.
herefore not all will go to heaven even though all have the opportunity through the sacrifice of Christ.
God created man because God is love.
he purpose for man is to be joined to God in everlasting life.

Wrong Happy, Christianity teaches the flesh does sin and the flesh does die.
Christians believe in the resurrection of the body as we believe the resurrection of Jesus.

My question agaoin Happy is not if a man dies according to Islam but why does a man die?

Nice thanks for your answer, it tends to be the same as Christians we also believe that the spirit goes forward until the resurrection of the flesh.
My question is not do you believe the flesh dies but why does the flesh die according to Islam? If sin does not cause the body to perish why is it even necessary for the body to perish and be resurected?

Religion again I know Muslims believe the flesh dies...my question is ...is there a reason why according to the Qu'ran why the body must perish?

Nice I am a Protestant and I believe to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord as the Bible teaches. The sleep is for the body.
Those who are dead in Christ will arise at his second coming. I speak of their physical bodies. The judgement is after the 1000 year reign of Christ on the Earth.

Maria, Not to offend but the Qu'ran is not in agreement with the Bible nor is it in agreement with the prophets of God.
The Bible and the prophets of God continually warned people not ot follow a prophet that was not in agreement with the word of God and all prophets had to be in agreement with each other and the word of God. We are warned from the time of Moses not to follow simply because a man claimed to be a prophet nor because he did miracles.
The Allah of Islam is not in agreement with the word of God that existed before Muhammad.

Lawrence, Good to see you again.
Man does not die because of individual sin but because sin is in the world the world does corrupt and therfore we are subject to this corruption as disease and these things lead to death.

The same is true for roses and even metals rust and animals die who are not subject ot God's law. If you read the first book of Moses and the story of the garden when Adam ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil the entire earth was cursed. You can see the effects of this in that all the things do corrupt and die.

Is there an Islamic answer to the question of why things on Earth do corrupt and die?

Happy according to the Bible a Christians flesh is subject to death for sin. We are all sinners saved only by the righteousness of Christ and it is through the resurection we are made new and are made righteous. It is only by faith through Christ we are now new creatures. We are not literally made new until after the resurrection.

Muslim friends, You keep telling me that we do die but not why the flesh does perish if not for sin?

Happy, Flesh does perish because it is sinful. Faith is from God and is through the spirit. The Bible demonstrates man's creation in the image of God in that man is more than flesh but also has an eternal spirit. When God first created Adam he formed him first fromt he dust,
Flesh, then he breathed inlife which is the spirit and man became a living soul.
This is the image of God who is Father Son and Holy Spirit.
God said the first should serve the last.
The flesh should be in submission to the spirit.

As the Son was in submission to the Father.

Soul is the marriage of body and spirit.

Maria, The Isa of Islam is not the Christ that was foretold of by the prophets of God. The only way anyone was to know who the Messiah was is by his fulfilling the prophsies of Messiah.
If a Muslim does not believe in the words of the prophets or the prophsies of Messiah how is it they could recognize Jesus as the Christ?

I'm sorry again we leave the subject,
Can anyone explain according to the Qu'ran the reason that man and things on the earth corrupt and die if not for sin in the world?

Maria, You say Jesus never claimed ot be God or the SOn of God but it is written in the Bible long before the Qu'ran. It is also written that Jesus said those who did not believe he was the Son of God had the spirit of antichrist.

Maryam, While I do dearly love sharing this truth with people my question referred to why men die?
In the Bible sin causes death.
We know all men do sin and all men do die.
Why do men die according to Islam?

Soldier, Do I know the answer according to Islam? No of course I don't.
I know the truth according to the Bible.
I did not ask the answer according to the Bible but according to the Qu'ran.
If you can't answer simply say so why try to be offensive?

Ali, I am not free to sin according to the Bible but by faith made new through the righteousness of Christ.
If I am made new how it you say I am free to sin?
Does God make us new sinners?
No we are by faith made new in the righteousness of God through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Ali, My question is concerning the Qu'ran. If there is an answer that you know of please share it with me.

Tania, I appreciate your effort but you are saying this life is a test and we have ot die to continue on...Why do we have ot die to continue on...Why not just pass the test and procede? Is there a reason why we must first die before we continue on?

Soldier, If you were without sin your question might be valid. the fact is you are judged according to your own sin but also there is a physical reality that sin effects our lives here on this sinful planet.
If your neighbor was a Murderer you chances of being murdered will increase will it not? Simple physical reality isn't it?

Nubz, Why?

Lawrence, again bacteria and age factors...what causes them? Why does flesh perish and why will you die?
You say aging but what causes it surely Allah could prevent physical death.
Why does a man have to first die and then he inherits eternal life?
Why is it bacteria and ageing does not effect you after you die?

Muhammad thanks for your answer, These suras refer to death as inevitable but do not explain why?

Lawrence some people die because they are hit by a bus. While this is the cause of their death it is hardly the reason they die.

Lawrence, let me put it this way..in the afterlife you sill not die correct? Why is it you die in this life but these things that kill you here will not effect you then?

Nice, Christians share the belief that the flesh perishes and would agree that sin is the cause. Adam was not meant to perish but did eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and then inherited death this story of Adam is from the Torah. My question was not does flesh perish but why?

Yes that is close Lawrence, Why is it necessary for a man to die before he can inherit eternal life?

Maryam, I understand but my question is still why is this life temporary and the next permanant?

Karem, like the rest you have reached the obvious conclusion life is temporary. I am not askin IF this life is temporary but why this life comes with death. Now you can say because this life is a test...Okay why then must this test end in death?
Why not lifted up as Jesus was lifted up accordingto the Qu'ran? And even Jesus must return to die. I am nto asking if this is true but again I ask WHY? WHen you say limited resourses then why are the resourses limited they surely are not limited in heaven? WHy not a test and at the conlusion we are lifted up if death is not caused by sin. Do you not agree that sin is a corruption and that it is corruption that causes death?

Eman, obviously flesh does perish else where are Adam and all those who went before us? My question is not a stupid question. If this life is a bridge why is it necessary to die to cross it? The Qu'ran itself says Jesus did not die but did indeed cross this bridge does it not?

Let me sum this up as best I can from the teachings of Islam.
It is obvious to us all that man does die even an atheist would not argue that this flesh is temporary and does perish.

Jews, Christians and Muslims believe in an afterlife.

Torah says that the day of Adam's disobedience to God causes him death.

Gospel says the wages of sin is death.

Qu'ran simply says Allah apoints a time of death then he brings man back for an eternal life...the reason for death and then a return to life is not clear other than a test but all test do not end in death so truly the reason for death is not that this life is a test. Man could easily be tested and then be moved into God's kingdom without the need of death.\

I would tend to say that the Torah and the Gospel are correct that corruption causes death as we see this corruption in disease and in ageing.
All things do corrupt and according to the Bible sin is corruption which causes disease and death.

FTL Why do you age? Old age is a symptom. My question to you would be what causes a man to age or by aging I suppose you mean deterioration? Why does the length of the man's life show corruption in his body? If a man gets old you take it he must degenerate...If that was true then eternal life would be impossible as we would continually corrupt.

If old age causes death this would mean time itself corrupts. How could there be a God or an eternal life if time itself corrupts and causes death?

If it is God that Creates life then isn't it God that sustains life?
If God is righteous and man is sinful doesn't this cause a seperation from God and man.
If God is life and sustains our life isn't this seperation from God...DEATH?
Whereby the Bible is correct in that sin causes death.
The serpent in the Bible told the first lie.
This lie is that man could survive disobedience to God.
You will not surely die.
This serpent is the devil and this lie is carried on today by him not by the true God of Abraham who said to Adam in that day "You will surely die"

According to the Bible it is sin that causes death ?

According to the bible; Why do babies die? Why do birds die? Why do roses die?

Please advise.

Edit:

Plants die because of the sin of Humans, and Babies die because of the sin of the father? What a fair treat !

Accordingly; The Pope in Vatican will die because a man in South Africa committed a sin.....!

In our faith: "That no laden one shall bear another's load". I think this is fair enough.

Can you imagine a judge that imprison a whole country because one of them stole a loaf of bread?

Nice to meet you as well.

We Muslims believe that no one dies and this is not our real life.

And yes there is an Islamic answer for death and corruption of beings: Bacteria and age factors.

Edit 2:

Now I think I got your Q.

Why is after life eternal and this life is mortal? Is that?

In Islam man does not perish. Just transfers from this world to another.

God plans our birth, life and death for trial of humans. He give some opportunity of fixed period to us in this world and when our time finishes, our soul is taken to another world. In the next world after the doomsday we all shall be judge.

67:2 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;-

39:7 If ye reject ((Allah)), Truly Allah hath no need of you; but He liketh not ingratitude from His servants: if ye are grateful, He is pleased with you. No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. In the end, to your Lord is your Return, when He will tell you the truth of all that ye did (in this life). for He knoweth well all that is in (men's) hearts.

58:6 On the Day that Allah will raise them all up (again) and show them the Truth (and meaning) of their conduct. Allah has reckoned its (value), though they may have forgotten it, for Allah is Witness to all things.

62:8 Say: "The Death from which ye flee will truly overtake you: then will ye be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open: and He will tell you (the truth of) the things that ye did!"

Edit:Q:Happy, seems to me many Muslims have physicly passed from this world.
Our soul is our reality. Physical body is something that perishes. According to your own theory a christians body should not perish!!!!

Edit: how can flesh have faith?? Flesh does not sin, this is our soul who uses our flesh for sin. Flesh is not responsible but soul.

No, for Muslims, this life is a test, that's all. It's a short life, after which we meet our creator and are judged for our sins and goodness.

One Q for you, if Jesus did die for sins, then why bother with life anyway, considering you're going to heaven anyway? Why would God create you. And also, what does the Bible say for the purpose of life for Christians. I mean what does the Bible say, not anyone else.

Thank you! (Hope I didn't offend you. Just curious

In Islam the soul is still alive. The quran details exactly what happens to the soul upon death of the body, which is that it's taken by the angel of death from the toes upwards. Hadiths go into even greater detail.

Your body is temporary and your soul is given a body as a test. Jinns are also tested but they have bodies we can't see.

When you're resurrected, you'll have a body again. When you go to heaven you'll have a body too to experience the senses.

The quran even says to look at the grass and how it grows an withers away. This is a sign for the believers to remember the impermanence of life and the impending day of judgment. So not only is the body a reminder of Allah's wonder and the afterlife, but even vegetation was given as a reminder of the impermanence and that the test won't be open forever.

I never understand what happens to Christians after they die according to the bible. Catholics say you immediately go to heaven or hell (so there's no point in a judgment day); orthodox say your soul is alive in the grave and awaits the judgment day; Protestants say you're asleep until judmgent day plus many other things. The bible isn't clear to me.

EDIT: Simply, Muslims believe what Jews believe- that man's body was never meant to be permanent. If it was, then it means if you had an accident and lost an arm, what would happen- will your arm grow back, or will you live without an arm? The Christian old testament is similar to the Jewish old testament. Jews unanimously say Adam and Eve were never meant to be permanent. The Torah is a Jewish text, so really I don't know why Christians come to the complete opposite conclusion of what the Jews themselves say.

When you believe in Bible, then why not believe in Quran as well? both are revealed by Allah, the only God. Quran is the final book and every human being is to follow this book. I know my answer is irrelevant to what you have asked but this is also important to know why do you guys follow according to your preferences?

Edit: Allah himself is a God.

Jesus never claimed to be a God. or son of God, we Love and respect jesus (p.b.u.h.) and he will come back.

My belief has been stated in my profile:
"That no laden one shall bear another's load, and that man has only that for which he makes effort, and that his effort will be seen, and afterward he will be repaid for it with the fullest payment"

EDIT: God can't do the injustice of letting someone else die for ur sins. U r accountable for ur own sins. It's not possible to get away with them, otherwise, everybody will be committing sins 'cause they won't get punished. If God had to rid mankind of the burden of sins, it is within His power to simply forgive people, instead of committing such a grave injustice!
Every being has a certain time in this world, during which God tests him/her. Atrocious people and good people, all get their turns. After each living being fulfills his/her period, he/she returns to Him. And then the judgement will be meted out! Each little good and bad deed counts.

EDIT: In Islam, men don't die as a punishment (unless they are legally punished for a crime against God). They die 'cause their term on this earth expires. And they must return to where they came from (their Maker). It's not due to sins. Not a punishment. They don't perish. They simply leave this temporary life to enter a permanent one. This process of leaving their temporary life is called 'death'. Mens' deeds in this temporary life determine what they deserve in the permanent one.

The reason we die is that this life isnt the real life if you get what i mean.

This life is just a test to weed out the good from the bad and, your actions in this world affects where you end up in the hereafter.

So we all have to die so that we can carry on the journey.
    Like take it this way:
Lets say that university is the test and after you leave uni it will be deicided what will happen to you. If you were good and got good grades then you will have a nice life and a good job that pays well

But if you do badly and get bad grades, you wont get a good job if you understand what im saying :)
So the uni would be like a test... and if you never leave uni (in our case if we never die) then theres no point really....we all have to leave at some point.

i recommend that you research more about this topic this a good site about the hereafter, and dont just take my word for it lol do your own research from a safe website like the one below, becuase I am not a scholar so i dont want to unintentionally misguide you

We have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be hindered, (56:60)

    Holy Quran

O' creatures of Allah! Fear Allah and anticipate your death by good actions. Purchase everlasting joy by paying transitory things - pleasures of this world. Get ready for the journey, for you are being driven, and prepare yourselves for death, since it is hovering over you. Be a people who wake up when called, and who know that this world is not their abode, and so have it changed (with the next).

Certainly, Allah has not created you aimlessly nor left you as useless. There is nothing between anyone of you and Paradise or Hell except death that must befall him. The life that is being shortened every moment and being dismantled every hour must be regarded very short. The hidden thing namely death which is being driven (to you) by two over new phenomena, the day and the night, is certainly quick of approach. The traveller which is approaching with success or failure (namely death) deserves the best of provision. So acquire such provision from this world while you are here with which you may shield yourself tomorrow (on the Day of Judgement).

So everyone should fear Allah, should admonish himself, should send forward his repentance and should overpower his desire, because his death is hidden from him, his desires deceive him and Satan is posted on him and he beautifies for him sin so that he may commit it and prompts him to delay repentance till his desires make him the most negligent. Piety is for the negligent person whose life itself would be a proof against him and his own days (passed in sin) would lead him to punishment.

We ask Allah, the Glorified, that He may make us and you like one whom bounty does not mislead, whom nothing can stop from obedience of Allah and whom shame and grief do not befall after death.

because death comes with life. in this universe nothing is forever, not even this universe is eternal. Allah has made this universe so, he has given us short, mortal, fragile lives and has given us fragile homes so that we realize our weakness and helplessness before him, so that we realize that we are creations and above us there is a creator.
this life and this universe is a test for us.it is a stage.

we die not because of sin, we die because from before we are born our death is preordained, and all we can do is to to some good in the world so that we may be rewarded accordingly. We are told to look at nature and learn from it, that is what a muslim is supposed to do. death of old generation is a mercy to new generations. if the old generations do not die then the limited resources our habit will be taxed and there will no space eventually for the new generations to thrive.

You are indeed a valiant warrior!
A valiant warrior tries to remove their own impurities, before they decide to remove the impurities that 'appear' to be within others!
The greatest of warriors recognize that: "A person that says little, says much!"

"May we all become diligent warriors and strive to remove our own impurities."
    "Peace be always with you."
