My doc ordered a dnc (abortion) due to my cervical cancer, it's now been 3 weeks since. is it normal that?

Before you start judging me, remember this abortion was not by choice. I've been threw a lot so dont make it worse!!

When i have sex i start bleeding? and the bloods a bright red. On the paper the doctor gave me it said NO SEX for 2 weeks. Its been 3 weeks today so me and my fiance thought it would be ok but now im bleeding, is that ok? and yes we used a condom.

i had already stopped bleeding a week ago and have been taking birth control for a week also. So why am i bleeding after sex? i had the surgical vaccum abortion.

Having an abortion will really mess with your uterus and your cycle, and your entire female system will be very sensitive for weeks afterwards. Your uterus can actually swell and retain extra blood, and some women will experience pain from this, and it can lead to additional bleeding. It isn't uncommon for women to bleed afterwards, and having sex can definitely be a trigger. Two weeks is the minimum, but it still might be too soon for you. Were you already having some intermittent bleeding after the dnc? If you are still having some pain from the procedure, then it probably isn't good to have sex yet. Your cervix has been opened, and your uterus is trying to recover. The risk of infection is really high at this point, and that's another reason they don't recommend sex. There are very normal reasons that you may be bleeding, but if there is pain or any other symptoms, you should call your doctor just to check. There are alot of risks after a dnc, so it might be best to check to make sure, but this is also a normal response some women have and is not a cause for concern.

On another note, I am truly sorry for your situation and what you are going through. I am in a very similar boat, and I can genuinely understand where you are coming from. It's a tough road but it sounds like you are handling it as well as you can. Stay as strong, courageous and positive as you can. You will be in my prayers. Best wishes for you and your fiance.

See your doctor. It could just be a bit of trauma and will stop on its own or you could have a problem. So sorry about your situation.

So sorry for your loss. I survived cervical cancer.
You are bleeding because you haven't healed yet.
I assume you had the cancer removed at the same time as the abortion and there were sutures to close the biopsy. Unless your doctor told you specifically to take the pill, wait a couple months. It's an extra chemical interfering with the healing cycle. Your body is in huge repair mode. I doubt you could get pregnant with a sucked up uterine lining. All your systems are in lock down. Give everything a rest. Two weeks or three weeks is too soon. You have been through major surgery. Give it another 2 weeks without lifting anything over 10 lbs, no penetration, no exertion, basically sedentary. Low key everything. I mean it. Drink lots of water, or watery cranberry juice. Multivitamins, folic acid, and 1000mg Vitamin C.
