How do you get a job easily besides just applying?

Why do appliccations for places take a LONG time to respond, if not they never do. I'm talking places like say...Lowes, Warehouses, Best Buy, and whatever. This question isn't for me by the way, but a friend of min just got laid off and needs one really quick but there's no luck. It seems like sending in applications don't do much, you just have to WAIT and WAIT and WAIT

There are a number of reasons why this could be happening. Because of the economy, some companies are a little apprehensive on their spending. In addition they are getting bombarded with resumes, due to a number of people out of work.

The days of submitting yuor resume and waiting for someone to call are over. simply because everyone is doing that. You have to network, let everyone know in your network that you are looking, and apply a little elbow grease. That is how I landed my past three positions.

Your answer is the best ouf of all of them. I agree with your answer...networking...getting friends to recommend you. It works more than an application
