are you talking about sabrina or koga
sabrina you have a tile pattern to go through
koga you need to guide your self through the invisible walls

I take it the sixth badge is the one in saffron city. You have to complete the silph co. mission first, then make your way through the warp panels in saffron gym and beat the leader
