Are there any bown recluse spiders in florida?

I just saw one that looked something like a brown recluse in my apartment the other day!! Are they common in florida and what part? I live on Northeast coast?? thx

Yes, they are common in the southern states. But the reason they are called recluse is because they are reclusive! It is very rare to see them.

No species of recluse spiders are native to Florida, but three species have been intercepted, and occasionally have established populations in single buildings at scattered locations.

I would have to say they are NOT common. I've lived in FL for almost 20 years and never heard of them.
