What is the glass that changes color with an electrical charge on csi?

A few weeks ago i saw glass that changes color with an electrical charge in csi. It was totally clear and then turned white. what is the name of it ? where can i get it? hows it work?

Its some sort of Piezoelectric Crystal formed in a sheet. Its similar to the display on a pocket calculator.

I saw that CSI too. I kept thinking that had to be one expensive window to replace, and its in a club?
