Diary of Anais Nin?

I am currently reading a used copy from the 60s of vol. 1 of the diary of Anais Nin. I've heard that a lot of things were abridged in this version, and I was wondering if after I read this, is it worth it to buy the series of unabridged diaries that I've seen online? Also, what did everyone think of it?

The unabridged version gives you a better idea of why people are fascinated with Nin. The 60's ones are pretty watered down. Personally I am not a huge Nin fan, I prefer Henry Miller. She is an interesting product of her time though, and I actually prefer her diaries to her novels.

Anais Nin was a woman of many vices, but she was also a woman highly disposed to self-inquiry. If you read this book, you'll be reading a lot of psychoanalytical conclusions. I own four of her diaries but I didn't enjoy them for the above reasons.
