What to do on long island, ny for the Fourth of July?

There is the 4th of July Jones Beach Fireworks Show Nautical Cruise. OR maybe something more personal, rent your own boat and cruise to the area where the show is going on and have your own intimate fireworks show.

there is also fireworks shows in:

Glen Cove 9:15 p.m. Glen Cove Morgan Park, off Landing Road Bay Fireworks

Brookhaven 4th Farmingville, Bald Hill, Gucci fireworks

Other then those. perhaps going to a theme park like Splish Splash water park or Adventureland, maybe even see a carnival, could be a nice change. Or you could head out to the hamptons to see whats going on there.

My personal favorite would be to take everyone to a picnic spot for a nice bbq, then head over near the bay to watch any of the fireworks shows going on.
