I need help on above ground pool maintenance?

3 days ago we bought an above ground pool (about 3 ft. deep) and i let the filter run and put a chlorine tablet in a floating disc, but is there anything else that i need to do or buy to make sure that the pool stays clean and clear?? the manuals weren't very informative. i appreciate any help.

buy some pool shock and shock it about once a week,instructions on shock container. Back wash pool filter when pressure gets 2 or 3 lbs. above normal which is about 14 to 17 lbs. You'll need to vacuum or at least sweep the bottom and side when silt settles down there. Be carefull what tablets you put in floater had one blow the lid 30 ft. in the air when it built up pressure. It will boil out the bottom when it's the wrong one read instuctions carefully

Is it an Intel pool with the cartridge filter? If so you can just put the 1" chlorine tablets in the middle.
