Anybody know of any hearing protection for thunderstorm/fireworks phobic dogs?

...just another invention thought I'm kicking around.
Looking for new product ideas and have machine shop availability. If anybody has any ideas for new products you'd like to see developed let's talk. This is what I love doing and my passion is dogs so why not combine the two?

Someone has already started manufacturing doggy hearing protection. They are called Mutt Muffs and were originally designed for those who'd pets fly with them in private small aircraft. Many LE agencies have started buying the product as well so their K-9s can accompany their handlers to the firing range.

Another group has a neoprene comfort wrap in production that aids dogs with various phobias. Something to do with compression being calming.

My SD has a pair of Mutt Muffs that he wears for concerts, movies, parades, or any place that is going to be really noisy.

bring them inside. and turn radio or tv on while things like fireworks are going on it might draw there attention and keep them calm. thats what i do all the time and it calms my dogs down.

I don't know of any.. but I'm game! My poor dog is cowering at my feet as we speak, he has squeezed his 90+lbs into the small space beneath my PC because again tonight people are setting off fireworks. Again I have yelled out my window for them to stop.. thankfully it worked again!

However I would be interested in having something to put on his ears so he can't hear it. But I'm not sure most dogs would accept such a device. I'm picturing those headphone-like ear things with the dial on the side you can use to adjust how much sound you hear. Maybe just some kind of "headband", like thing would be better for a dog.. something you could easily slip on and off, to block out the sounds. Good luck with your invention.. if ever I see it I'd buy it.. my dog hates storms and fireworks.

Bah!! They started fireworks again! I just called the police I'm fed up with this crap.. it's 1030PM people should have some courtesy for their neighbours and their dogs....

Try ear covers like you would use to cover your ears when it is cold.
