Actually animals arepure, people are the ones that can be evil. I saw that horrible scene on the discovery channel as well, but I beleive there was an explanation. They were young Orca whales and orcas hunt together sometimes and they were practicing this skill. I was horriified and had to turn it, but it was a part of their survival.
It is instincial for them. Dogs were formally wolves and have a chase/kill instinct in them. In some breeds its very repressed, in others its very active. Cats kill because it is their survival instinct and even when they don't eat their kill, many times they will bring it to the door of their home and mew until you go see and they leave it there as some kind of gift (in their minds anyway). I have had to think about this alot, a few months ago my newest rescue dog, who was formally abused and neglected killed my beloved cat. I was devaststed, but had to come to an understanding that it was not done out of evil intent, it was instinct.
People kill other people over jelousy, anger, money...that is evil. Animals have no concept of killing except a survival instinct, therefor man is far more eveil than any animal. With the monkeys, they may kill over territory. that is also survival, because the family with the best shelter, food supply, can insure that their offspring is taken care of.

- my friend, ppl killing for jealousy anger and money are also from survival instinct. animals are pure like a car is pure. they might not be capable of evil but they are not capable of good either. morality is the realm of men.. only humans can do evil but only humans can do good as well.
