The skin of your buttocks SHOULD be the only thing coming into contact with the toilet seat. Skin is an extremely tough barrier, so, no you can't catch anything in that case.
If your vulva came into contact with the toilet seat, which it sure as heck shouldn't, there is a chance of contracting something.
Regarding crabs...it's a common misconception that they can be spread by sitting on a toilet seat. This is not very likely, since lice cannot live long away from a warm body. Also, lice do not have feet designed to walk or hold onto smooth surfaces such as toilet seats. They'd slip right off after coming into contact with the seat. Plus, they have a nice, warm body to be on...they would not be jumping to a cold toilet seat.
I am a healthcare provider and specialize in infectious diseases. I ALWAYS sit down on public toilet seats unless there is visible contamination. I'm healthy and disease-free, and have sat on thousands of public toilets.
No worries, dear. Take care!
