Republican Fear Mongering?

McCain's top political advisor Charlie Black, the man who lobbied for African dictators throughout the 1980's, has recently stated that Madam Bhutto's assassination helped the Republicans and stated that a terrorist attack on US soil before the election would be a "big advantage" and help secure McCain a victory.

Is this more evidence of Republican fear mongering in their attempt to cling to power?

It was inexcusable. He basically admitted that McCain's only chance of winning is by using fear.

Absolutely.
Besides, I have no idea what the accusation that Benezir Bhutto was killed by Al Queda is based on.
She was for opening negotiations with them and was for approving the Iran, Afghanistan Pahistan India gas pipeline.

For her to be killed by anybody except Pervez Musharif or Cia operatives makes no sense at all.

For those claiming McCain is distancing himself from Blacks statement;
they should note that Black only made that statement when asked a question about McCain's claim that a terrorist attack was the worst threat to the American economy.

A threat McCain claimed was even bigger than energy prices, oil shortages, the deficit or corruption in the banking industry.

I think another terrorist attack would mean Bush tries to stay in office a little while longer.
The statement that an attack would help McCain isn't necessarily fear mongering. If he had said 'A democrat in the White House would bring more risk to our country'...That would be fear mongering. He would be saying that the wrong choice could result in bad things. What he ACTAULLY SAID was that a bad things would be good for McCain. Whether intentional or not, his wording doesn't try to scare people into voting a certain way. That's what fear mongering is, trying to coerce a certain result.

No, it is more evidence of the truth. I think all rational people can figure out that under more than 6 years of Republican rule since 9/11/01, we have had 0 terrorist attacks on our soil.

Meanwhile, we have another candidate who wants to play tea party with the dictators of the world. People can do the math.

I would tend to agree it will benefit repugs more then the dems. Unless the people are so fed up with what the last feeding frenzy bought us.

Obama said the statement was a "complete disgrace"
