How do I download sims 2 clothes and accessories off the Internet?

Question

I went on to "http://www.lyrika.co.nr" and I found outfits and things I liked so I downloaded them. Im not sure if I need to import them into the game if I do I have no clue how I import them. Please help me. I downloaded them all to my sims file. If you are still confuzed email me at [e-mail] it's the one i check regular.

www.Thesimsresource.com is a great download website. you have to register but its well worth it (its free).. you can also download houses, furniture, even cars and of course clothes.

they have "read - me" which tells you how to download the files to ! =]


also i have sims complete collection and this is how i import my files etc.. i duno if it will work on sims 2 but u can give it a try!!

Click download
then "extract files"
then click on "browse"
then "My computer" ( the little square next to it with a plus sign [+] << something liek that
Then "local disk" then "program files"
Then scroll down to "Maxis"
Then click "the sims"
Then "downloads"
Then scroll all the way down to "gama data" ( its there somewhere)
Then click "skins"
Then click "ok"
Then click "next" and it will unzip the files into that folder.!!!!

Oh an when your downloading stuff onto your game make sure that the game IS NOT running when your downlaoding or they wont show up.. wait til u finished downloading THEN start the game..

Okay, first of all, you have to make sure you save it to the proper folder. So save it here to this file path:
"Documents" > "EA Games" > "The Sims 2" > "Downloads"
so in other words make sure it's in your downloads folder in the sims 2 folder.

Now, when you save files from lyrika.co.nr the files are in a Zipped format. Which means that your computer won't be able to access them unless you unzip the file.
And you have to have software to unzip the file. So good software would be Winrar, or 7-zip. I have 7-zip, and it was a free download from downloads.com.

So, when you have the zipping software:
1: go into the downloads folder
2. Right click on the file you just saved
3. hover over the option "7-zip" (or Winrar if you decide to download that, or the name of whatever program you may already have)
4. Click on "extract here"
And now your files SHOULD be accessable in your game, and you should be able to use the clothes or hair or whatever. As long as the download wasn't broken, and you did everything properly, it should work. Sometimes things need a mesh to be downloaded separately, but it looks like lyrika has them in the same download, so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

I had the same problem, I can't give an accurate answer but when you chose to download the file, you have to make sure you save them to EA games- Sims 2. I did that and some of the things like clothes and makeup worked but hair did not. I was even on the same site. I don't think you have to import them. This isn't much of an answer but maybe something about it could help. Sorry. :(

I can help. Go on to sims2.com and go to exchange, but first u have to have an account. so then make it, and start downloading! But also i would tell u 2 bookmark stuff u like but are not downloading right now. Also just hit download and that's it!
