CAN’T SEE TEXT IN INSTANT MESSAGES?
This is an issue that is cropping up more and more. I hope you are willing to answer a few questions and try a couple possible solutions. Please be sure to read everything before deciding on a course of action.
1) The first thing to check is to make sure you have scripting enabled in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is integrated into Yahoo Messenger so things that go wrong with IE can affect Yahoo Messenger. Here is the yahoo help page about that:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng…
2) In the Start Menu click on Run. In the little Run window type…regsvr32 jscript.dll…and then click OK. Next, repeat the process but this time type into the Run box…
regsvr32 vbscript.dll…and click OK.
3) If the above does not fix your problem and you are using Windows XP, you can update your Windows Script to version 5.7. In my experience helping others, this is the step that has helped the most people. Exit all browser windows and chat programs including Yahoo Messenger before installing. Here is link from Microsoft to update that:

Or you can do an internet search for Windows Script 5.7 and choose the Microsoft link.
This version of Window Script is already included with Vista so you would not use that link. There is also a Windows Script 5.7 released for Windows 2000 and you can find that here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai…
You can also read more about the new release here:

I would appreciate it if you would email me at my_mailbox08@yahoo.com (or you can email me via my Yahoo Answers Profile) to let me know the other information I need (see below) from you which of the suggestions fixed this issue for you. I am trying to determine if the problem is affecting exclusively XP users and those with IE 7.0.
If you contact me I need some information from you. 1) What Operating system are you using (XP, Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium etc)? 2) Please check the version of Yahoo Messenger you are using. I need all the decimal places. At the top of YM go to Help and then select About Yahoo Messenger and you will see the version number (I do not need the module number). 3) Which version of Internet Explorer you are using 6 or 7. To locate the version number of IE you are using look at the top of the browser window under Help and then About Internet Explorer. 4) And lastly, I need to know which of the 3 fixes above solved this problem for you. Thanks!
