What is significance of red in spanish?

We are discussing Anne Carson's Autobiography of Red and I need to know what the significance of red is in spanish and in hte book in general!

Red- Rojo in spanish

Red(Spanish word) - the trim used to catch fishes in the sea
Red (spanish again) - "Network" in a IT enviroment.
