A neighbour has bolted a porch to my extension without my permission, where do i stand?
neighbour has built a porch in his backyard, but he has drilled and cut into my extension to make it weather proof.leaving me unable to access my roof from his side.

Call your city and ask them if this is legal - it probably isn't but you would be better off knowing where you stand. Have you talked to this neighbor and asked them what they were thinking?

Cheeky wasn't he? Did he have a permit for this porch? What is your building license board? That would be the place to start.
I don't understand why you would want to access your roof from his side.........but guess I'd have to see it in person. Is this the only side you have access to your roof??
I'd be concerned his drilling and cutting into your extension...have this investigated. If done illegally, start action to have him repair the damage.

Totally illegal, if you own, ask him to remove ,it but if you rent the owner should be notified, and you might want to talk to an attorney if they give you any problems.

I'm not sure what you mean by an "extension", but your neighbor's property should not extend onto your own, nor bolt something to your property. He should remove it if you do not wish it there. Ask him nicely to do so, ONCE. If he does not, then involve the police.

Hi you need to phone the planing office, they will send someone down, he will have to take it down if he has not had permission to build it, anything that comes over your boundary you are within your right to remove. Good luck.

I suggest you stand back and enjoy the view. let him get on with any repairs as well from now on.excuse me, but where were you when all this diy was going on?
Do you get on with your neighbour? if so, ask him to have a bbq this weekend as way of an apology (but ask you to it) for not asking you first, if you don't get on with them, you have the biggest bbq you ever had and party into the wee small hours, I hope this helps.

Tell him in a nice way to remove it. You do not state where you live, but in UK if you have built up to your boundary line he must allow you reasonable access and room to maintain your building. He definitely cannot attach anything to your property without your agreement.

Normally you are supposed to leave a gap inbetween boundary walls in case of disputes in the future when doing any extension related work.
