A fool and his money...?

there's an old saying that says, "a fool and his money are soon parted." but the bible says, "a fool has said in his heart there is no god." with that being said, how come atheists are much wiser than christians when it comes to not being conned by religious phonies like benny hinn, pat robertson, paul and jan crouch, and a long list of other evangelists who need your donations so they can buy a new private jet?

It saddens me to see it when people fall into those traps. I think the reason it happens like that is because some people are just desperate for something, anything, to change the situations they're in. Many are greedy themselves and go there to "sow seed money" because these preachers promise them that if they do, God will give them great wealth or make miraculous things happen. Some are sick and want to be well so bad that they'll do anything for it.

It's very easy for desperate people from all walks of life to believe something that may help them. For those that believe in God, it's easy to suckered, to be honest, if they're not totally familiar with what the bible says the nature of God is.

Blind belief can make the money go the wrong way. True!
I will give you a different perspective about it. I used to wonder why people cheat others and then I thought what is it that they get after cheating others?
I checked out the flow of that tainted money from my pocket. It went to the person who picked my pocket, from there he spent it at the eatery or the grocer. The grocer also never retained it . He paid to the supplier, the supplier paid it to the manufacturer, the manufacturer paid it to the employee who bought food from the market and so on it went back in the circulation!!!
Now if it had not happened at all then the employee would not have got the money and he would go hungry. So I felt it is okay if the money went its way.So I did not bother about it at all since it finally went for a good cause. So the credit came to me and not to the guy who picked my pocket. The remaining persons in between only acted as channels for this transfer.
So I get knowingly conned nowadays and I do not bother about it at all.But I ensure it is not a great amount, but something which I can afford.
