That is certainly my fear. When I read the level of hostility on this site alone for Sen. Obama, I am afraid for him. They could take all of the dastardly actions of the Bush years (took the US to war), totally destroy the economy making it harder for everyone to live, but they can accept all of that just because Bush was white.
How would they have felt (as African Americans have) when the President of the US totally ignores them. New Orleans is an example of that, but we are quick to rush aid to Myanmar.
I agree with helping Myanmar, lest some think I am saying something else, but how do you call American citizens "refugees" as they did in New Orleans? Clearly, African Americans have long lived under presidents who have ignored their interests and, in order to vote, had to vote for one of them. No wonder they lost interest in the political process.
I don't think white America (in general) will be able to accept anyone other than another white American as president. Even if he is better than any other President on record, there will be attempts to get rid of him.
Ironically, Bush, who has been the worst president is not even questioned on his illogical policies.
