Cotton is not only better for the environment it is better for you. a 300 thread count will last a good while and give you years of healthy comfortable sleep. Never bleach it or it will fade a yellow and if you can hang out side to have the sun rejuvenate the fibers. If you want to keep them bright use Borax with your detergent. Enjoy!

I prefer cotton because it is natural and breathes ,so I think your decision is the right ,cotton will crush more than polyester but who wants to sleep in a plastic bag just because it looks good.

I had this exact same question not to long ago and researched the heck out of it. Here's my take on it all:

In my opinion you've purchased the lower-middle stream of solid cotton blend (300 thread) - this is in my price range and I like 100% cotton blend for my sheets. - good purchase...? well that depends on if you like it and how much you paid for it.

Ultimately I've found the blend with polyester isn't as soft but it doesn't wrinkle, fade, or wear like 100% cotton will - but this is where your thtead count of 100% cotton comes in - the higher the thread the better quality (still wrinkles unless it's satin cotton) etc.
