In the US in 2005, roughly 119 people died in traffic accidents per day, including pedestrian victims. Roughly 3000 people die in traffic accidents daily around the world, though this number is not very reliable due to the statistical methods in third world and heavily rural countries.

Of the 40+ thousand who are killed on the road each year, about 30+ thousand are the motorists in class C or passenger vehicles (cars, SUV's, light trucks)...The rest are in trucks, buses, motorcycles, passengers and pedestrians...In 2005, 31,549 motorists were killed (87/day) in class C mishaps and >2.4 million (6575/day) were injured.
