The slope of a line measures the steepness of the line.
Rise means how many units you move up or down from point to point. On the graph that would be a change in the y values.Run means how far left or right you move from point to point. On the graph, that would mean a change of x values.

slope = rise/run
When a line has a positive slope it goes up left to right.

When a line has a negative slope it goes down left to right.

When a line is horizontal the slope is 0 and when the line is vertical the slope is undefined.

right when the line is negative it points to the left
when the line is positive it points to the right

see the scale above ,use that to help you. Left is negative and right is positive.

Also the line is called a correlation. There are

Perfect positive correlation- that a perfect straight line
Resonalbe postive correlation- thats postive but not completely a straight line

Perfect negative correlation- thats a perfect negative line
Reasonable negative correlation - negative, but not a completely straight line.

    hope i helped ^^

a positive slope on a graph is usually used in scatter graphs and it means when the crosses are in an upward setting e.g
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/img/ma03021.gif
and a negative correlation is when the crosses or dots go downwards e.g
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/education/bitesize/standard/img/mathsII/statistics/scatdiag2.gif
by the way i would put the crosses on but it wont let me

A slope is the line or the change of y over x in an equation. A positive is when the division is positive and so the graph will have a line that is increasing from left to right. Then the negative slope is when the answer is negative, or the line id decreasing from left to right.

    hope this helps =)

    hope this helps

negative slope goes to the right while going down
positive goes up and to the right

    positive slope- 1/2
    negative slope- -1/2

if the numbers are negative, then the line is going to be negative. Try thinking of it as like an income of some kind. if you look at the +/+ quadrant (top right) only, then did you lose money? if so, it is a negative slope. if you gain money, then it is a positive slope. if you look at the bottom left quadrant, don't get confused. it is easier to look at the top right.

good luck and have fun =]
