Hi - I have CML. It is not the same - I know. But I have a little bit of advice for you, okay? First, find a doctor that you like and trust. Don't waste your time with a doctor you don't care for (I did that in the beginning). I take the drug Gleevec every day. Exercise, take good care of yourself. Avoid sick people. Keep an upbeat frame of mind and appreciate the people that love you. I know people that have been cured of what you have. Make sure you get enough rest but don't shut yourself in or get down and lonely. Hang in there. You can be okay.

First find a doctor the you like and can trust, because you will see a lot of him/ her. There are some really great ones out there. Next build a support group. It might sound silly now, but trust me you will need them. Except help from anyone who wants to give it to you. Avoid people that are sick and avoid crowds. Your immune systems is going to go through hell. Keep an upbeat attitude. This is a "curable" cancer. Don't be afraid to ask questions, the more you know the better off you are. Take all your meds, especially the anti-nausea ones. They really do work.

My chemo was R-CHOP. And it was intense. But after the first treatment some of my tumors went away. After the third treatment the tumor in my neck was gone and the ones on my lungs shrunk greatly.. I could breath again.

Be positive, you make it through this, and live the write about. God bless you.

    You are in my prayers

I was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma and I have been treated with hyper cvad regiment of chemotherapy. I had to have eight treatments, each one week in the hospital, every three weeks. Most importantly, is you need to find an oncologist that you trust, because it will be a long partnership together. I had completed the chemo and had just gotten a bone marrow stem cell transplant almost 5 months ago, and I am recovering and am in remission. The transplant was successful. Stay strong and know that better days are ahead. Good luck to you and God bless you.
