Where can I dispose of fluorescent light tubes safely?

Question

I live in the Atlanta area. Specifically, north of Atlanta, in Alpharetta.
I don't want to just throw these in the trash, as they have mercury in them. Thanks!

The new longer life bulbs are the same, and all need proper disposal as you can't just throw them in the trash. Here's a link to Energy Star:

Call your garbage collection company as to what you should do with them. They just might have a place near you to take them.
