Why not read them both!
I find that reading a book more than once allows me to get more out of it. The first time, it is new, you are reading and trying to stay in the story. Your focus in the read is very straight forward. Re-reading brings with it a familiarity of the work, allowing you to get the deeper images and meanings.
You might be very surprised at what you read that you "missed" in teh first reading!
Besides, better to have two books in case you finish one and have the time for the second than be stuck wtih no book to read, except the same one again right away!
