Hydrogen/Oxygen-Generator FOR CARS/TRUCKS?

DOES THIS CONCEPT REALLY WORK OR IS IT TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.PLEASE HAS ANYONE BUILT AND USED ON THEIR VEHICLE? WHAT WAS YOUR MILEAGE INCREASE?

Yes, this system really does work. I am currently experimenting with various designs to gain better gas production with less heat in the cell. Haven't fitted the unit to my car yet.
To prove it to yourself, before spending any money, take a couple of bits of steel (3'' nails will do), attach a low voltage source (max 12 v) to each, then place them in a jar of water, about 5mm apart. You may need to add a small amount of carb soda or salt to facilitate the electrolysis process. You will see small bubbles being generated from the two metal items. 316 stainless steel is the preferred metal for these units, as it resists corrosion best.
NASA uses this process to power satellite positioning rockets( the small ones used to keep the satellite in correct orbit). 3 volt solar panel provides the power source.

this type of stuff shows up every time there is an increase in gas prices. it has been going on since the mid 70's with no end in sight. this does work however as a great transfer deal. it transfers money from your pocket to the pockets of the people selling these books. but if you believe that these books are speaking the truth, then analyze this statement;

you have to be careful when adding fuel saving devices to your car. if you add too many, you could end up manufacturing gasoline, and have it back up out of the tank creating a fire hazard. this is not a problem though if you also install devices that improve performance at the same time. that way you can easily accelerate to 300mph and out run the fire.

the old saw that goes "if something seems to good to be true, then it usually is" applies to these books. the amount of energy required to split the hydrogen from the oxygen in a water molecule is rather high. the other thing is that you wont be able to create enough hydrogen to make any real difference.

It won't do a thing. The energy necessary to break the water into hydrogen and oxygen comes right out of your engine, by way of the alternator belt. You get some of that energy back when the hydrogen and oxygen are burned back into water in your engine, but you don't get all of the energy back--some of it goes, unavoidably, to heat the water.

The people who sell this stuff really think it works but are generally very short on instrumentation to prove their claims, even to themselves. Mostly you'll find that they don't understand the electrical generation part of the process--they think that the generator has 'excess energy' that can be used without cost to dissociate the hydrogen. When the generator is loaded down by that hydrogen cell, it requires more power to turn, and that power comes out of the engine.

Hydrogen powered cars do work well but hydrogen is expensive to make and difficult to handle. Some people talk about hydrogen as a future fuel but almost all hydrogen is made from natural gas and uses 4 times more energy to make it than it gives. I doubt hydrogen will be an important fuel in the next 30 years, if ever.

The real hope is for fuel cell powered cars, right now fuel cells use hydrogen as the fuel. Fuel cells turn hydrogen gas into electricity but they are very expensive to build ($100,000.00) and the hydrogen is expensive and can be dangerous if handled wrong. Hydrogen usually explodes if exposed to air.

Check out bio fuels, fuel made from plants such as vegetable oil which works perfectly in any diesel engine, I think that is our future.

It's just a con, it's been around since before the 1970's.

Think about it, if the devices that are being push worked, why don’t you see them on new cars now? The auto manufactures have to not only meet CAFÉ numbers, but also the California Air Resources Board (CARB) numbers. Even if the US car companies sold out to big oil, why don’t you see them in India, Japan, China, ETC. Or do you really believe that big oil forced every country in the world to sell out to them?

I have the math worked out and will post it if you wish, post and edit.

By the way ozzigold is right when he says NASA uses it, but he leave out the part where they use excess power from solar cells to produce the energy. If you have solar cell and can't use the power they produce right now, it make sense to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The solar cells are making power no matter what and if you don't use it you lose it, unlike your car generator, it is only making the power you need and no more if you need more you burn more fuel.

It's a scam. It will not work, and it cannot be made to work. It will actually decrease fuel mileage and increase emissions. Google "perpetual motion" and "second law of thermodynamics" for more details.

I would like to tell you at the risk of being ridiculed that this really work. Moreover, there is a way to produce H2 cheaply. I have stumbled on this through reading massively different books and magazines. The technology is not out yet because I feared the safety of my family if this technology would ruin giant international companies- like coal, nuclear, oil. Just imagine how easy it is for them to hire somebody to keep the technology from ruining their source of economy. Just imagine how many people would be out of jobs. I have been reading and researching the current technology that produce H2 and its not efficient yet to be practical. I wanted to patent it too but so fearful of whom I could trust enough so the plans would not get stolen. Unlike a lot of people who want to make a ton of money out of it (even to the point of scamming unsuspecting people )I only want to generate enough income to sustain a modest way of life, as well as help a lot of people because the price of fossil fuel has gone ridiculously high for them to afford.
