Some children never crawl (my daughter walked independently a few days after she first started to crawl, she never was interested in crawling). as for sitting up, if another month goes by and she still can sit up (if she leans over a little to support herself that's okay) then have her evaluated at Easter Seals.

If this is your first child things may come at a "slower" pace developmental milestones are different for each child.. If you are worried about your child give her more tummy time on the floor to exercise those musles and learn how to balance herself.

I would also consult your pediatrician and see if he/she sees any cause for alarm. I would just give it a little more time.

    good luck

my child never did roll over til like 10 months and crawled at 9 months and sat up at 6 months but fell over alot and walked at 13 months. i aske this same question when she was 8 months old now shes 18 months old and running around and doing normal toddler stuff.

I don't think she's behind at all! My little girl is 71/2 months and doesn't crawl yet, although she wants to. Some babies by pass the whole crawling thing. Also, my little girl sits up but really, only started doing it without falling over recently. No worries!

the average ages for sitting up are between 6-8 months of ae- some babies never crawl and the average for that is around 8 months or so- i wouldnt worry- if shes rolling then shes doing fine

I think she's fine.... she'll do these things when she is ready to, don't stress too much

However, make sure you are giving her some tummy time, that's important in helping her to do things like crawl and sit up. :)

haha I am there as well.....my son is 8 months and he just started to sit up on his own, but no crawling yet.
So don't stress they will do it when they are ready. :)

some babies need more time, it doesn't mean there is a delay. My daughter didn't sit up until she was 9 months, and she never crawled, at 13 months she just took off walking and we haven't been able to slow her down yet.

She is on her way. She is not "Behind" hun. My older kids didn't sit until 7 months & did not crawl until 9 months, my youngest did not sit until 7.5 months & crawled at 9 months. She will get it when she is good & ready then you will be like "Oh stop". Ha.

They did however have a good vocabulary earlier than usual. My friends son walked & crawled really young but didn't talk until a bit later.

She's not behind by any means. Babies develop at different rates but usually start to sit and crawl at this age. The thing to do is to encourage her but do not PUSH her. Try placing her on her tummy and putting a toy a few feet in front of her, or you sit in front of her to help encourage crawling. As far as sitting goes keep putting her in that position and either put your leg behind her to encourage her to sit or use a pillow.

She'll crawl and sit when she's ready to. Don't worry.
