Another expensive casting site?

Just stumbled upon hollywoodprofiles.com - These guys want a $100.00 Set-up fee and then $16.95 a month????? Anyone know if this expensive site is anygood? Seems to me they are taking advantage of the industry. Wayyyyyyy too expensive. Anyone use these guys? Are they worth emptying your wallet for?

David, I'm already a member of exploretalent.com.... they are also expensive...and the other sites you mentioned all lead to exploretalent.com...run the web address info and you'll see it's all the same owners....do you work for them??? lol

This site is certainly overpriced!!!

I looked at the site to see how casting directors can list their notices on their site (some sites even charge casting directors to list notices - which is a sign that the site is just out to make money and not really doing things in the interest of the actors who have signed up. Casting directors are not going to list their notices with a place that charges.)

But with this site there doesn't seem to be any place for a casting director to submit a notice, which tells me that they're getting their notices from some other source, rather than directly from casting directors. And since most of their listings are for unpaid projects, I think most of the audition notices can be sound somewhere else for free.

So, yes, this site seems to be a GIANT rip-off.

Contact www.sag.org or www.actorsequity.org and they should be able to provide you with info' re: reputable agents in or near your area. These agents will not want money to represent you.

Those other guys are scammers for sure.

Who hires off of a website anyway?

Did you really look at this site anyway? One of the "benefits" of memebership is that you can send an AUTOMATED EMAIL to indicate your interest in any given job. Wow, I'm sure casting directors will be impressed with automated emails.

I'm not sure there are any casting directors, anyway. I looked at the most recent listings, and the jobs are a joke. Half the jobs don't pay anything, and almost none are for actors. Most are looking for artists, photographers, and graphic designers. In fact, these jobs look like they were pulled right off of craigslist or something similar.
