i have the same thing... it's very annoying because people think im wearing purple eyeshadow.... and im a guy.
i have found it helps a bit to get some sun... i tan my face with my eyes closed to darken the skin of my upper and lower eyelids. but it doesnt help very much.
I read an article on surgical removal of periocular spider veins in the lower eyelid, and it said it was very successful. But I have no idea where to get this treatment, or if it's available for upper eyelids.
I know there is reasonably successful laser treatment for spider veins, but i don't know if they can do it on eyelids. I am at the point where I might see a doctor or call some laser clinics to find out. If I do, i'll let you know what i know.
I wouldn't try leeches... that sounds like a bad idea. some skin-colored eye makeup might be a better idea.... as long as no one finds out.
there is also a condition called 'heliotrope eyelids' which is similar, but it's an acute problem-- it comes on suddenly as a symptom of another condition. it sounds like you've had this all your life (like me), so if you see a doctor, tell him it's not that.
