we are buying a house which has an existing lean to extension made from wood and a polycarbonate roof.It has been up 6 years and as far as we are aware,it did not need planning permission. Can anyone tell me iff there is a legal length of time that it has been there so there should be no problems with authorities(UK).Thankyou in advance

As this is a wooden building and is not built into the house, it is classed as a temporary building and does not need planning permission, so it can stay there as long as you like. For everything else I think the time scale is ten years, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

As it is not of a brick construction, planning permission
is not usually needed, our house has a wooden one and we just
told the council, after we had fitted it. Over 10 years ago.
It's 4meters by 2.5 meters wide.
