Well there are lots of species of pine! For me the common pine tree where I live is Pinus radiata....you have to know which species it is!!!!! Thats why we have scientific names for things as its the common name that causes problems, pine tree means different things to different people!

the genus is Pinus - All pines are in the genus Pinus, but the full scientific name depends on the type of pine:
One pine I know is Pinus Caribaea (Caribbean Pine).
