No, that's a common misconception. Domesticated rats make great pets and can develop unique personalities. They are also very clean creatures that constantly groom themselves.

Only wild rats. And they aren't slimy either. Domesticated rats are normally bred for temperment, health, and appearance. So they are lovable, and cute.

Rats follow humans , because we are slimy and smelly . they like to eat our garbage and our buildings keep them warm . While they are free to spread disease.

Actually rats are not slimy, they are furry and soft to the touch.
I dont think any rodent's coat smells and actually, if you smell a rat (lol), its because their cage is not kept clean.
I have never owned a pet rat, I am a hamster owner, but I have handled lots of rats in pet stores and they were real friendly and liked to be petted. I never bought one because I just couldn't ingnore that long, bald tail.

Hahah... No. Rats are definetly not slimy, and if they are smelly it is only because their fur picks up the scents around it. So really that is only a reflection of everybody elses filth.
Pet rats are adorable little buggers with real personalities and gorgeous whiskers.
Please do not believe such ridiculous misconceptions about a fascinating animal.

Slimy? Defiantly not. And smelly? Only if they they are wild and if domestic, it means their cage needs to be cleaned. Rats are really adorable and highly affectionate animals that get attached to you quite easily and can be taught tricks. They are extremely smart and playful. Rats are personally, my favorite rodent and each has their own personality.
