Hold on a damn minute. Eveyone's forgetting about the most important part of the story. Of course they're named after the song Tony wrote... everyone knows that.
The song was titled Black Sabbath after the Mario Bava film from 1963 - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057603/
They wanted something that sounded as frightening as their music, since the song Black Sabbath was written with "The Devil's Chords" (a reference to the three notes that begin the song and carry on throughout - in mideval times, these notes were thought to conjure Satan, himself).

They were originally called "Earth"....here is a brief synopsis of how the name changed:

Earth moved in a darker direction when their bassist, Geezer Butler, a fan of the black magic novels of Dennis Wheatley, started to dabble in the occult. "Geezer Butler wrote the song Black Sabbath after he was given an occult book in Latin and Butler had a vision of a black hooded figure standing at the foot of his bed and told Osbourne about the vision. (from VH1 Black Sabbath Documentary)". In early 1969, the band found themselves being confused with another local band called Earth. After being called to play a concert, they found out the manager called the wrong Earth. As Tony Iommi put it "We died out there," as told in his interview in The Last Supper. As a result, they adopted the song title as their new band name

Geezer Butler wrote the song "Black Sabbath" after he was given an occult book in Latin and Butler had a vision of a black hooded figure standing at the foot of his bed and told Ozzie Osbourne about the vision. Their original band name was Earth but there was another band called Earth and they found themselves being confused with that band. So they adopted the song title "Black Sabbath" as their new band name.
