How do I block a number from calling my house without having to call a company?

You may have to call your service provider. I know Rogers offers a service called Call Screening with their Home Phone Service you can opt to get. It will do just what you are looking for! You can program what numbers you DO NOT want to answer. They will get a message like "The Customer you are calling is not accepting calls from your number at this time" It's a great feature and is only $4 a month for it.
