I getting married in 2009 to a fire fighter.?

Question

I am getting married to a great guy who is 7 years younger than me. I have been married. He has never been married or even been to a wedding. I want this day to be best day for him. He is a medic and Firefighter. I am looking into joining the local fire department very soon and i know he loves his job. I was thinking about a firefighter themed wedding but having some trouble finding any good sites. Do you know of any good sites or have ideas where to start....

don't get too involved in a theme. just have nice flowers, colors that you would like, food that you like, etc.

maybe have funny things like a firetruck cake topper or like someone else said, exiting the wedding in a firetruck...or have your wedding at the firehall that you fiance works in.

You could have your reception at a firehouse!!!!! Often times they have a studio above---my daughter takes dance lessons above a fire house and often times that space is rented out for banquets and other events. Look into it, I think it would be great!

My dear......I give you this opinion in all sincerity. "Fireman" themed weddings...or any other 'themed' profession weddings are tacky. Unless you're from south of the Mason Dixon Line.

Just because he is a firefighter, doesn't mean he wants it to be his wedding theme.

that's so sweet you want a firefighter themed wedding but I think you want to be careful in what you choose, you don't want it to look like a kid's bday party... :)
i guess you could have the cake shaped as a fire truck or a fire station, or a hose!! hahaha

I wouldn't get to themey but you could incoperate beautiful things you would love into his firefighing stuff.... You could find old wooden ladders and vine flowers up them, do red roses, and accent them with gold ribbon, having it in a firehouse would be adorable. You could have the firetruck take you two away in the end.... hire a bagpiper to play as you walk down the aisle. Just don't get to themey ... this is a wedding not just a party. Im sure he'll appreciate the beauty of it and love the special touches you added for him.

Why not check out some local historic firehouses or find some antique fire engines to have pictures taken at. I would go with the red/orange/yellow colors. I am getting married in 2009 to my firefighter too!! Just so everyone knows....our reception will be firefighter themed because HE wants it. You have to realize, firefighters are married to their jobs. We have fire trucks all thru our house. His truck is adorned with fire stuff. Good luck with your wedding!

I am a firefighter in Montana. The day of my wedding, we had a multimillion dollar building burn to the ground. I fought the fire, then got married. I love your idea.

I would start in a firefighter sales area like our designs. They have a lot of little items that might be good. You could also look through firehouse magazine for some idea. Maybe a dj that plays firefighter theme music like the fireman by george strait.

I would also look at having fire trucks move you from the wedding to the reception. He could wear his dress uniform and the groomsmen could wear "turnouts".
