I have bought an item from Woolworths and I want to take it back, can I?
I bought a disc cleaner from Woolworth’s today. I took it home and tested it out on four discs which weren’t working. It didn’t work. Everything is still in tact except that a bit of the top flap is torn, but I have the other piece. Can I take it back?

I would say that your CD was to far gone to be saved and you are not entitled to your money back.

If it isn't working, then legally it isn't fit for purpose and you should get a replacement. You can try and argue for your money back if you have the receipt.

As long as you have the reciept you can get a refund or exchange it.
If the item you brought was faulty you can take it back, the fault is theirs for selling faulty items.

If you buy something that is faulty the retailer should take it back , they may offer an alternative or a credit though

You bought a disc cleaner not a disc repair kit. If it failed to clean then you are entitled to your money back or an exchange. If your discs are faulty, perhaps scratched, then no.
However, most big stores will refund the cost or exchange it.
In the case of an exchange, it still will not work with your scratched discs so what do you say then?
