Can you grow Braeburn apple tree in the South East England?

Does anyone have any experience of growing a Braeburn apple tree in the UK. I keep reading they don't grow well in the UK. If not, what is similar in taste to Braeburn that I could grow in the UK with success?

It won't grow there unless you feed it people. I know this sounds crazy, but it's been proven that if you want to grow a Braeburn apple tree in South East England, you need to feed it people.
