'La Vie Boheme' from Rent references Maya Angelou

Though it's actually a band name and not a song, the name 'Savage Garden' is a reference to Anne Rice novels

'Moon Over Bourbon Street' is a Sting tribute to 'Interview with the Vampire'

Obviously, all of the songs in 'Godspell', 'The Pronce of Egypt', 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', 'Joseph: King of Dreams' and "Jesus Christ: Superstar all contain Biblical references
Any of the songs in 'Lestat' contain ANne Rice references

'American Pie' by Don McLean references the Bible....the song was later covered by Madonna
